Theology and Religious Studies took place in Leuven. The event, organised by Prof. Dr. Dries Bosschaert and Lieneke Timpers, took place in the context of the rise of ChatGPT and the tension this brings between ethics and data. One of the workshops focused on the usage of the iCANDID research infrastructure which gives access to big data from official press media, social media, open governmental data etc. The workshop started with an introduction to the basics of scraping and analysing data from the internet and included a discussion on the biases inherent to tools used for online empirical research.
